Secure Personal Archive (Spa 3.1)

The free LastPast password tool is an excellent alternative to this software.

The secure personal archive provides security tools for a computer.

  • As a self-contained archive Spa keeps sensitive information secure. Items are accessed through a directory tree accessible only by a password.
  • Convenient drag-and-drop file cryptography is provided from keys within the archive.
  • Random passwords (or keys) can be generated from an FM radio by the Trap tool.

  • A wide variety of file hashes (MD5, SHA-1, ... ) can be calculated via the FileHash tool.

Instructions with screen shots are available.

(Not an applet)
Archives and files are encrypted with Daisy cryptosystem based on the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES, Rijndael) with a 256 bit key and increased rounds count (50).
